At First Homeschool, we are committed to delivering your educational materials promptly and efficiently. This policy outlines our shipping procedures, ensuring transparency and compliance with applicable regulations.
Order Processing and Estimated Delivery
Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days from the date of purchase. Business days are defined as Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Estimated delivery times, based on the selected shipping method, are as follows:
- USPS Media Mail: 2 to 10 business days (may occasionally take longer, up to 2 weeks, depending on distance and carrier delays)
- USPS Ground Advantage: 2 to 5 business days
- USPS Priority Mail: 1 to 3 business days
Please note that these are estimated delivery times and are not guaranteed. Factors such as carrier delays, weather conditions, or peak holiday seasons may affect actual delivery.
Shipping Methods and Costs
We utilize a range of carriers to provide cost-effective and reliable shipping, including USPS, FedEx, and UPS. For economy shipping, the most economical carrier will be selected automatically at the time of fulfillment. In most cases, this is USPS Media Mail for books and curriculum materials.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the weight, dimensions, and destination of the package.
Free shipping may be offered on qualifying orders, as advertised. Free shipping typically applies to the contiguous United States; shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, or U.S. territories may incur an additional surcharge even when free shipping is applied.
International shipping is not available at this time.
USPS Shipping Rates (Effective July 13, 2025)
- Media Mail: Starting at $4.47 for packages up to 1 lb. Cost-effective for shipping educational materials; typically delivers within 2–10 business days.
- Ground Advantage: Starting at $5.25 for packages up to 1 lb. Reliable delivery within 2–5 business days.
- Priority Mail: Starting at $9.35 for packages up to 1 lb. Expedited service delivering within 1–3 business days and includes tracking.
Please note that shipping rates are subject to change based on USPS or other carrier pricing adjustments.
Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Territories
We do ship to Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO addresses, and U.S. territories. However, please note:
- Delivery times may take 1–3 weeks, depending on the carrier.
- An additional surcharge may apply, calculated at checkout, to reflect higher carrier costs.
- Free shipping promotions may not apply or may require a higher order minimum for these locations.
Local Pickup
Customers have the option to select free in-store pickup during checkout. Orders designated for local pickup will be available at our retail location:

You will receive a notification when your order is ready for pickup, typically within 1–3 business days. Please bring a photo ID and your order confirmation when collecting your items.
Combined Shipping
When multiple items are ordered, we will consolidate them into a single shipment whenever feasible to reduce shipping costs and packaging materials. The combined shipping cost will be reflected at checkout.
Third-Party Seller Items
Products not owned and sold directly by First Homeschool (such as items from The Neighborhood marketplace or other third-party sellers) are subject to the third party’s shipping policies and charges.
- First Homeschool shipping discounts do not apply to these items.
- Regular shipping charges will apply, as determined by the third party’s fulfillment process.
Lost, Delayed, or Damaged Shipments
If you encounter issues with a shipment, such as delays, loss, or damage, please contact us within 14 days of the expected delivery date. This timeframe aligns with our Return & Refund Policy.
- Delayed or Missing Packages: Check the tracking number provided in your shipping confirmation. If the carrier shows no movement for an extended period, we will work with them to investigate. If the package is declared lost, we will issue a replacement or refund.
- Packages Marked “Delivered” But Not Received: Please check your property, neighbors, or building office. If the package is still missing, contact your local carrier office with the tracking number. Reach out to us for assistance in filing a claim. Once a package is confirmed delivered to the address provided, replacements are not guaranteed but we will work with you on a resolution.
- Damaged Packages: Retain all packaging materials and take photos of the damage. Email these with your order number to contact@firsthomeschool.com. We will work with the carrier to resolve the claim and may provide a replacement, refund, or store credit.
Please note that First Homeschool is not responsible for delays caused by the carrier, weather conditions, or peak seasonal periods once the package has left our facility.
