A record book for Arkansas homeschool families, with the pages the Education Freedom Account adds: an EFA checklist, a guide to what EFA money can and can't buy, a receipt log, a balance tracker, a testing record, and a Notice of Intent tracker. 54 pages. You get a fillable PDF, a print PDF, and a web version that works offline on a phone or computer.

Arkansas asks very little of independent homeschoolers. File your Notice of Intent by August 15, then teach. Take EFA money and that changes. You renew every year, your kids test every year, and every purchase runs through ClassWallet with a receipt. This book is where all of that lives, so June isn't a hunt through your email.

What's inside

  • Arkansas Requirements at a Glance: NOI dates, the five-day withdrawal wait, testing, EFA vendors and rollover. Sources are named on the page (ADE Home School FAQ, May 2026; ADE EFA Family Handbook, 2025–26).
  • Notice of Intent tracker, with room for mid-year withdrawals and changes you report to the district
  • EFA checklist: eight steps from renewal to closing out the year, each with a line for the date and confirmation number
  • EFA spending guide: what EFA money can buy, what it can't, and what to ask ADE about first. Every line cites the source: the 2026–27 EFA rule (6 CAR pt. 35), the statute as amended by Act 920 of 2025, or a page of ADE's EFA Family Handbook. Covers the 25% caps, the $1,000 device limit, the $8,500 rollover cap, and who can be reimbursed.
  • EFA receipt log and balance tracker, one of each per student
  • Testing record and a 2026–27 key-dates calendar
  • Attendance two ways: a checkbox-per-day year grid, and twelve monthly pages with hours and notes
  • Hours by subject, a curriculum list with an EFA column, reading log, field trips, and a work-sample index
  • Progress report, high school credit summary, and year-end summary. These print without our store name, so you can hand them to a co-op or a school.
  • A next-year planning page, four weekly-log pages to print as needed, and a notes page

Three formats

Fillable PDF. Type in free Adobe Acrobat Reader on a computer, iPad, or Android. Bookmarks and a numbered contents page get you around fast.

Print PDF. Same pages, lines instead of fields. Prints clean in black and white.

Web version. One file you open in Safari or Chrome. It saves as you type, on your device only. Nothing uploads anywhere. Export a backup whenever you want one.

Who it's for

Arkansas families homeschooling one or two kids, especially if you take EFA funds. Independent homeschoolers use it too. The state doesn't require records, but a transcript, a move, or a return to school goes a lot easier when they exist.

Who should skip it

Three or more students in one file? This isn't built for that. Every per-student page holds two (you can save a second copy for kids three and four). And if you live outside Arkansas, the core pages work anywhere, but you'd be paying for an Arkansas section you won't use. We're working on other state editions.

I spent fifteen years as a special education teacher and principal before we opened First Homeschool. Records were a big part of that job. This is the book I'd have wanted a family to bring me.

What you get

Fillable PDF (54 pages, US Letter), print-ready PDF, and the web version (.html). 2026–27 edition. Instant download after purchase. No physical item ships. Personal use for your own family; please don't share or resell the files.

A record-keeping tool, not legal advice. Arkansas has changed EFA rules every year since the program started. Confirm current requirements with the Arkansas Department of Education.
